Google has already begun testing Android 17, and as development moves forward, smartphone brands are gradually preparing their own software skins based on the upcoming version. Now an early glimpse of ColorOS 17, OPPO’s next Android interface, has surfaced online.
The preview was shared by a user on X known as
@Gm_t18, offering a short look at how the interface might evolve in the next
version.
A New Way To Open App Folders
One of the noticeable changes in the preview is a different animation when opening app folders.
Instead of the simple
expansion seen in current versions, the animation appears to make apps feel like
they move into the folder space in a more physical way. The goal seems to be
making the interaction feel smoother and slightly more natural.
It’s not a major visual
overhaul, but it shows OPPO may be experimenting with small UI refinements rather
than redesigning the interface completely.
Improvements May Focus On Smoothness
Beyond visual tweaks, earlier reports have suggested that ColorOS 17 could focus on internal optimisations.

These changes may
include adjustments to CPU resource allocation and memory handling, which could
help improve app launch speeds and reduce small stutters during everyday use.
Some reports have also
mentioned improvements such as better app retention, fewer UI frame drops,
smoother camera zoom behaviour, and more refined system animations.
If those changes make it into the final release,
the update may focus more on polish and performance rather than large design
changes.
More Details Likely To Appear Soon
Since this preview comes from an early build, it’s still too early to know how the final version of ColorOS 17 will look.
