Huawei appears ready to make a return to the Indian market after a long hiatus. A teaser on Flipkart has revealed that the Chinese tech giant is preparing to launch a new tablet in the country soon. The teaser suggests the device will likely be the Huawei MatePad 11.5, a tablet that is already available in global markets.
The move could mark Huawei's first notable product
launch in India since the company scaled back its presence following U.S.
sanctions in 2020.
Flipkart Teaser Hints at Upcoming Huawei Tablet
Flipkart, one of India's
largest e-commerce platforms, has published a teaser image carrying the tagline
"Handy All-rounder" along with the message "Coming Soon only on
Flipkart."
The silhouette shown in the teaser clearly
resembles a tablet. Its dimensions and overall design appear to match the
Huawei MatePad 11.5, suggesting that this could be the device slated for the
Indian debut.
Flipkart has also created a dedicated Huawei brand
page that currently displays the message: "Thank you for visiting this
page, launching soon!" However, the e-commerce platform has not yet
confirmed an exact launch date.
Huawei's Return to India
Huawei's presence in India significantly reduced
after the U.S. sanctions imposed in 2020, which disrupted its global smartphone
business. The restrictions affected access to key technologies and components,
eventually forcing the company to scale back operations in several
international markets.

In recent years, however, Huawei has regained momentum, particularly in its home market of China. While Huawei has not confirmed the official pricing for India, the MatePad 11.5 starts at EUR 299 globally for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

The Huawei MatePad 11.5 features a slim and
lightweight design, measuring 177.53mm in height, 262.63mm in width, and 6.1mm
in thickness, with a total weight of around 515 grams.
The tablet sports an 11.5-inch TFT LCD (IPS)
display with a 2.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel also offers an
86 percent screen-to-body ratio and supports 16.7 million colors, aiming to
deliver a smooth viewing experience for entertainment and productivity.
For photography, the device includes a 13MP rear
camera with an f/1.8 aperture, while the front houses an 8MP camera with an
f/2.0 aperture for video calls and selfies.
One of the major highlights of the MatePad 11.5 is
its 10,100mAh battery, which supports 40W wired fast charging. The tablet is
also equipped with dual microphones and a quad-speaker setup, with audio tuned
using Huawei Histen 9.0 technology.
