OPPO has confirmed the arrival of the Find X9 Ultra in select global markets later this year. This will mark the first time the company brings its premium Ultra flagship beyond China. While OPPO has not yet shared key features of its upcoming Ultra model, it claims that the Find X9 Ultra will integrate the most advanced imaging system it has ever developed for a smartphone.
Moreover, leaks and rumours have already given us
enough of an idea of what to expect from the next-generation Ultra model. Based
on these details, here's a quick comparison between the OPPO Find X8 Ultra and
the Find X9 Ultra to see what upgrades the upcoming model could bring.
Design And Display
According to leaked renders and images, OPPO may introduce a refreshed design for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra with a dual-tone rear panel. The company is reportedly working on multiple finishes, including an all-black version, a vibrant orange variant, and an earthy brown dual-tone option.
There could also be an
all-glass model, while some versions may combine materials such as glass,
metal, and faux leather. This time, the Hasselblad branding is expected to appear
more prominently on the rear panel, unlike the OPPO Find X8 Ultra, where it is
placed inside the camera module. However, the circular camera island design is
likely to remain the same.
In terms of display, the size is expected to
remain the same at 6.82 inches with a 2K resolution. However, this time the
OPPO Find X9 Ultra is likely to feature a flat display instead of the
quad-curved panel seen on the OPPO Find X8 Ultra. The refresh rate is also
likely to remain at 120Hz, but the newer model could feature a BOE X3 panel,
replacing the BOE X2 display used on the previous generation.
Processor and Performance
One of the biggest upgrades could be its processor. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, while the next-gen model could ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is claimed to offer around 20% better single-core speed, 17% stronger multi-core performance, and noticeably quicker app responsiveness compared to the previous gen. However, the storage is likely to remain unchanged, with the Find X9 Ultra also expected to use UFS 4.1.
Camera Changes
This is where OPPO is expected to bring some of
the major upgrades. As noted, the Find X9 Ultra will integrate the most
advanced imaging system it has ever developed for a smartphone. It combines new
optical engineering with OPPO's ongoing collaboration with Hasselblad, with the
brand describing the device as "Built to Be Your Next Camera."In terms of hardware, the primary sensor could see a significant upgrade. The OPPO Find X8 Ultra features a 50MP Sony LYT900 sensor, while the Find X9 Ultra is tipped to use a 200MP Sony LYT901 sensor, marking a major jump.
The ultra-wide camera may remain unchanged with a 50MP 1/2.75-inch sensor. However, the zoom sensors could see notable improvements. The current 50MP 1/1.56-inch 3x periscope camera may be replaced with a 200MP 1/1.28-inch 3x periscope sensor.
The second zoom sensor is likely to remain at 50MP, although it is still unclear whether this camera will continue to support 6x optical zoom. For selfies, the front camera is also tipped for an upgrade, moving to a 50MP sensor from 32MP.

Charging speeds are likely to remain the same at 100W wired and 50W wireless. The upcoming model is also expected to retain the IP68/IP69 rating and continue using an aluminium frame as the Find X8 Ultra.OPPO Find X9 Ultra Launch Timeline (Expected)
