How to Get Apple's New Siri AI in iOS 27 Beta

Apple has started rolling out its next-generation AI-powered Siri through the iOS 27 beta, bringing a smarter assistant capable of understanding context, handling more complex requests, and integrating more deeply with apps and system functions. However, not every iPhone that supports iOS 27 can access the feature.

If you want to try Apple's new Siri AI, here's everything you need to know about device compatibility, requirements, and how to join the waitlist.

Which iPhones Support the New Siri AI?

While iOS 27 is available on iPhone 11 and newer models, Apple's AI-powered Siri is limited to devices that meet Apple Intelligence requirements.

Eligible iPhones for Siri AI

iPhone 17
iPhone 17 Air
iPhone 17e
iPhone 17 Pro
iPhone 17 Pro Max
iPhone 16
iPhone 16 Plus
iPhone 16e
iPhone 16 Pro
iPhone 16 Pro Max
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max

Standard iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, and older models can install iOS 27 but may not support the new Siri AI features.

Requirements Before Enabling Siri AI

Before joining the waitlist, make sure your iPhone meets

  • Running the iOS 27 beta
  • Compatible Apple Intelligence-supported iPhone
  • At least 8GB RAM
  • Around 7GB of available storage
  • Siri and iPhone language settings must match
  • Feature available in your region

Apple currently does not offer the feature in mainland China or the European Union.

How to Join the Siri AI Waitlist

Once you've installed the iOS 27 beta on a supported iPhone, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Settings

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Navigate to Siri

Scroll down and tap Siri.

Step 3: Find the Waitlist Option

If your device is eligible, you should see a "Join Waitlist" button.

Step 4: Submit Your Request

Tap Join Waitlist and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5: Wait for Approval

Apple will notify you when the new Siri AI experience becomes available on your device.

Can't See the Siri AI Waitlist?

If the option doesn't appear, check the following:

  • Confirm your iPhone supports Apple Intelligence
  • Ensure you're running the latest iOS 27 beta build
  • Verify that Siri and system language settings match
  • Check that at least 7GB of free storage is available
  • Confirm the feature is supported in your region

Since Apple is enabling access in phases, some eligible users may need to wait before receiving access.

Should You Install the iOS 27 Beta?

Beta software often contains bugs, battery drain issues, and app compatibility problems. If possible, install the beta on a secondary device or create a complete backup before updating your primary iPhone.

For users eager to experience Apple's biggest Siri upgrade in years, joining the waitlist is currently the only way to access the AI-powered assistant ahead of the public iOS 27 release.

Why Siri AI Matters

The rollout marks a major shift in Apple's software strategy. For the first time, software support and AI support are being treated separately. While older iPhones continue to receive iOS updates, Apple's most advanced AI features now require newer chips and additional memory. As a result, Siri AI support could become an important factor for users considering their next iPhone upgrade.
