Vivo has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming foldable phone in China. The Vivo X Fold 6 will succeed last year's X Fold 5 and is expected to get considerable upgrades over its predecessor. While Vivo has been dropping several details about its upcoming foldable, no official launch date was provided, until now.

Vivo X Fold 6 Launch Date

The company recently took to Weibo to confirm that the Vivo X Fold 6 launch date in China would take place on June 26 at 07:00 pm local time or 04:30 pm IST.

As of now there is no information about the X Fold 6's global release, although the X Fold 5 was exclusive to the Chinese market. Additionally, Vivo's own teasers and leaks are also painting a detailed picture of the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6

Vivo X Fold 6 Specifications

The foldable will feature an 8.02-inch 2K OLED inner display and a secondary OLED cover screen measuring around 6.5 inches. Both panels use Samsung's latest M14 luminous material, making the X Fold 6 the first foldable smartphone to feature the technology on both the inner and outer displays.

Vivo claims brightness levels ranging from just 1 nit to an impressive 5,000 nits on both screens, while TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification aims to reduce eye strain during prolonged usage. The device will also feature a premium metal frame with rounded corners.

For photography, the Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to pack a 200MP Samsung HPB primary sensor with a large 1/1.4-inch sensor size, f/1.68 aperture, and CIPA 4.5-rated optical image stabilization. The setup will also include a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP Sony LYT-602 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and CIPA 4.5 stabilization. Vivo is further adding a ZEISS G2 teleconverter capable of extending zoom reach up to 200mm, alongside support for five portrait focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 100mm.

Under the hood, the foldable is expected to be powered by MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset paired with Vivo's V3+ imaging chip. To manage thermals, the device will feature a large 2,200mm² vapour chamber cooling system. The Vivo X Fold 6 is also tipped to house a massive 6,900mAh battery, making it one of the largest batteries on a foldable smartphone.

Other expected highlights include IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, as well as OriginOS 6 Fold with Vivo's new Atomic Workbench, enhanced multitasking features, multiple AI assistants running simultaneously, and improved on-device AI capabilities.

With its flagship-grade hardware, upgraded camera system, massive battery, and AI-focused software enhancements, the Vivo X Fold 6 is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious foldable smartphones of 2026.
