We are halfway through March, but the smartphone launch calendar for the month is still active. Several brands are preparing to introduce new devices in the coming weeks as they expand their offerings in India’s mid-range and budget segments. Companies including Samsung, Vivo and Poco are expected to launch new models this month. Among the upcoming devices are the Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G, Vivo T5x, and the Poco X8 Pro series, which are likely to bring updates in battery, processor and camera features. Here’s a look at the upcoming phones launching in India
Vivo is set to expand its T-series smartphone range in India soon. The company will unveil Vivo T5x in the country on March 17 at 12pm. The handset will succeed last year’s Vivo T4x and is said to come powered by a MediaTek processor. Ahead of the launch, Vivo has confirmed that the upcoming Vivo T5x will be available in two colour variants – Star Silver and Cyber Green. The handset will house a a7,200mAh battery, which the company claims will be the largest in the segment. The battery is reportedly designed to support long hours of streaming, gaming and browsing without frequent charging.
Vivo T5x 5G will offer IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The smartphone will be available via Flipkart along with offline retail stores across the country.

Poco X8 Pro series
Poco X8 Pro series is set to launch in India and the global market on March 17. The series is said to comprise two smartphones – Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max. Poco has been teasing the upcoming devices, confirming MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra for Poco X8 Pro and MediaTek Dimensity 9500s for Poco X8 Pro Max.
Both Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max are said to be the rebranded version of Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max. According to reports, the Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone may include a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 20MP front camera. It is also expected to come with IP69K dust and water resistance and a 6500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging. Reports suggest that the global version may include the 6500mAh battery, while the Indian variant could feature a 7560mAh battery.
Similarly, the Poco X8 Pro Max is rumoured to have a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device may be equipped with a 50MP primary camera with OIS and a 20MP front camera. The smartphone is also expected to carry IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It may be backed by a 9,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G
Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G will officially launch on March 17. Ahead of the launch, Samsung has revealed features of the upcoming phone. These will include a 6.7-inch HD+ screen with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling across apps, social media and web browsing. The device will carry an IP54 water- and dust-resistance rating and house a 6,000mAh battery. The handset will run on the company’s own One UI 8 optimisation.
It will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G octa-core processor, comprising two Cortex-A76 2.4GHz performance cores and six Cortex-A55 2.0GHz efficiency cores. The Galaxy M17e 5G will feature a 50MP main camera system combined with 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there will be an 8MP front camera.
Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G also integrates the Google Gemini AI assistant that generates text, explains concepts, summarises information and assists with planning tasks. Samsung is offering six generations of operating system (OS) upgrades and six years of security updates.
